She is under assault from runaway debt.  With no relief in sight...
The debt clock above tells the story.
$18,000,000,000,000???  Plus???  REALLY???
  • We need to tackle fraud & abuse in government programs.  But consider this:  the debt is so large that saving TENS of BILLIONS of dollars is often considered to be insignificant when discussing solutions.  What???!!!
  • We need to seal our borders.  TENS of BILLIONS of dollars are spent on food, housing, medical care, etc. for people who are in this country ILLEGALLY.  Why???!!!
  • We will not solve the problem until we address the problem of ENTITLEMENT SPENDING.  No one wants to say those two words out loud but without changes SOON, we'll truly reach a mathematical point of no return.  When???!!!

"...bent, but not broken."

"For I know the plans
I have for you,"
declares the
"plans to prosper you
and not to harm you,
plans to give you hope
and a future".

Reform ideas for consideration:
  • ADDRESS FRAUD:  On March 14, 2011, “Earlier this month, I held a hearing examining waste, fraud, and abuse in the Medicare and Medicaid programs,” stated Rep. Cliff Stearns (R-FL), Chairman of the Oversight and Investigations Subcommittee for the Energy and Commerce Committee. “Although some estimates for the cost of fraud in just Medicare ran from $60 billion to $90 billion a year, I wanted to hear the estimate from the witness from the Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS). Mr. John Spiegel, Director of Medicare Program Integrity for CMS, could offer no figure. It is very unsettling that the Administration is unable to estimate the amount of fraud in a $600-billion program. How can we take effective steps in eliminating fraud when we don’t know the extent of the problem?”  This says  forcefully that this is a good place to start.  For the most part, almost any attempt at reform here should bear fruit.
  • TORT REFORM:  Critical to any meaningful reform.  Malpractice insurance and inappropriate lawsuit awards add enormous costs to healthcare
  • STATE CONTROL OF FUNDS:  Work to move entitlement programs to the state level.  State and local governments will be better able to distribute funds to fit their needs.
  • MUST BE A U.S. CITIZEN:  We spend billions of dollars each year treating people who are in the US illegally.
  • STREAMLINE PROCESSING STRUCTURE:  Work to eliminate duplicate steps along the processing route.  Very often, more than one person along the way, repeats what someone else has already done.
  • MEANS-TESTING; SLIDING SCALE:  The most difficult route to reform but significant enough to warrant discussion.  There are situations where income is high enough that Social Security benefits are not needed.  The difficult part is how to determine when this is true...
  • DELAY NURSING HOME PLACEMENT AS LONG AS POSSIBLE:  expand home health care allotments to use those services longer.

We understand that entitlement spending is wildly out of control and that their costs
are draining the very life from America.  This puts us, then, in a unique situation.
Most of us rely, in some way, on these entitlement options to survive.
That leaves us better able to discuss reform,
from a standpoint claimed by no one else.
Who better to ask, than
someone living
the topic?

As a civilized society, we will always need entitlement programs,
because the poor and disabled will always be with us.
But if we look at all the options and set up a system
that is considerate of living within our means,
we could do this right.
Ideas to reach this end are listed in several places on this site.
Your ideas are very valuable to this endeavor.
Please let us know your thoughts.

I’ve never found a group organized to participate in conservative politics,
who have persons with disabilities as their target audience.
Upon first glance, the “foundations & societies & associations” vote liberal
because the disabled, in some way, at some time,
end up needing the entitlement programs.
(And that's OK!)
And entitlement programs are pet projects of the Democrats.
So in the quick analysis, there is no room for Conservative politics.
But wait...
The reality is that there ARE persons with disabilities
who understand the importance of repairing entitlements
and returning to Godly foundational principles.
We need an organized voice that can be heard
above the clamor of Medi-scare tactics and AARP misinformation.
That’s the idea behind this website: www.disabledcc.org

This conversation is relevant in every state.
All advertising is person-to-person so please pass this along.
This will help the disabled community to form one voice
to discuss entitlement reform.
So please join us, whether you have a disability,
know someone with a disability or
are lead to join the discussion.
Please!  And thank you!

Common Sense,

None of these men expected fame or fortune.  The pay was bad, the food even worse--if they had any.  They pushed doggedly forward toward an idea.  A plan.  A better way, that was burned into their hearts.  It was a dream called FREEDOM.  Today, we are so dangerously close to losing it, that unless we act now, it could be gone.  Just gone.  It is once again time to pledge to each other our lives, our fortunes and our sacrd honor while we still have a chance!!!

Even under a mountain of debt,
a down-graded credit rating,
a shaky stock market,
high unemployment
and even more negative, dark, hard circumstances, this is the
United States of America!
It is our legacy to overcome
dire situations.
It's sometimes unpopular to say these days,
but we are exceptional.
We can, AND WILL,
put in the hard work to rise again to be the driving force for good in the world.
Our flag will fly free once again
from the top of the mountain.
Wait and see.
Get involved and see.
